WDSU-TV employee Larry Small, on behalf of his colleagues at WDSU, submitted the following letter to employees of Hearst-Argyle Television, Hearst Corporation, friends and family and other donors to the Hearst-Argyle Employee Disaster Relief Foundation.
An Open Letter
TO: All of you Folks at Hearst
FROM: Us folks at WDSU
THANK YOU!
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. Thank you for your generosity. Thank you for being there when we really needed you. Thank you for your spirit and your brotherhood.
We are sad today because of what has happened to our friends, our neighbors, our homes and our city. But we are looking beyond the storm, and we take great pride in knowing that we do not stand alone in our fight. We look forward to the hard work that lies ahead of us and we are eager to rebuild.
Please accept our sincere gratitude. We are humbled and proud, and we ar e dreaming of the future. It was Pascal who once said, "We are only happy when dreaming of future happiness," and if these ancient words are true, then all of us on the gulf coast are in a state of euphoria, because it is easy to dream of the future when we know we are not alone in our quest.
We will fight the mountains of agony that rise up within us and we will over come them...
